Shaonahir, Horhore, Kushbona are three quite distant villages in the Rajnagar Block of Birbhum District of Bengal. The indigenous people of these villages lives on agriculture and agriculture only. Both Male and Female members of the family has to work in the field in order to meet ends. They speak in their own Alchiki (Santhali) language. The children of these families are mostly admitted in Govt. run schools where the teaching medium is Bengali. This creates a hindrance for these children because they are not very familier with the language, second, being first generation learners most of them, they find it hard to follow the generic syllabus.
Keeping in mind these children and their mothers as well, the project AMAR PATHSHALA (My School) was conceived, which is basically a supporting school.
